Every so often, a couple touches our hearts here in the salon and we get so excited to share their wedding. Marie and Garrett's wedding is one of those weddings. Married on November 17, 2017 at The Hudson, these two had been together eight years before they officially tied the knot! We're obsessed with these two and their love - take a peek at the beautiful wedding of #TeamBrummett! Marie is a neutral type of girl, so when it came to picking out her wedding color palette, she kept it true to her style - simple and neutral! Her wedding featured lots of fabulous greenery, but almost no flowers - which totally complimented her modern, chic vibe! Picking flowers out began to stress Marie out, so she decided against them almost entirely! Instead, they focused on other, more industrial details to pair with their exposed brick and beams reception venue! For her dress, Marie chose a fabulous Maggie Sottero gown with a fitted silhouette to compliment her petite frame. Beading and lace made the dress "pop" even more! Although the dress she chose, her dress was not what she envisioned when she first came into DG! "I thought that I wanted something flowy and bohemian," Marie said. "I kept feeling uncomfortable in the unfitted dresses. Kind of like trying on prom dresses - they were pretty, but they weren't "The One." When my consultant starting bringing me things opposite of what I asked for, I started lighting up! The funny thing was when my consultant brought me my dress, it had this mesh overlay that was 3/4 sleeves and came up to my neck - I HATED IT. But then she took the mesh off and there was my dress! I asked her to add silk spaghetti straps and voila - it was perfect!" Marie tried on six dresses at DG before finding her perfect gown and our salon was the only place she visited! "My experience was fantastic! It was so low key and I felt comfortable sharing what I liked and disliked with my consultant. Plus, there was room for my girls and no pressure to buy that day." Marie is a pro when it comes to giving wedding advice. Although she'd been anxiously awaiting planning her wedding for years, when it arrived, even she was overwhelmed! She gave a great nugget of advice to newly engaged brides: "Don't try to re-invent the wheel when so many people have done the hard work for you!" She utilized Pinterest and the Knot's wedding checklist to help plan her wedding, but otherwise let the chips fall where they may! This also leads into our SECOND favorite piece of advice from Marie: "Pick three to five things you really care about for the wedding. Outside of that, don't sweat it. Let people help you and don't be afraid to do something non traditional. If you don't like the Macarena, don't play it. If you don't like heels, don't wear them. It's YOUR big day - don't make it someone else's!" We are absolutely FLOORED by these beautiful images courtesy of Tori Christine Photography. They perfectly capture Marie & Garrett's love! Thank you so much to Marie & Garrett for letting us be a part of your special day!
