Our latest #dgbride is Yesennia, who married her soulmate David on September 1, 2018 at their local Catholic church and their reception was at 54 West Music Hall. Their wedding featured beautiful ivory, gold, and mauve details and perfectly celebrated their Mexican American culture. Yesennia planned her perfect day from scratch all on her own, utilizing Pinterest, wedding planner apps, and the help of friends and family. "I'm a very detail-oriented person and I love decorating," she said, "so it was really hard for me to not be at the venue telling everyone where everything went. But I'm glad I didn't because it turned out perfect!" (How SWEET this is perfect shot of the couple? Instead of a first look, they opted for a sweet and tender moment together before their ceremony - but David still got to be surprised by her dress!) Yesennia chose a beautiful Maggie Sottero gown to wear on her big day. It featured a strapless, sweetheart neckline and a corset back that allowed her to show off every curve! When she first started shopping for her gown, she distinctly did not want tulle. After trying a few dresses on, however, and being underwhelmed, her family and friends noticed a picture of a bride on our wall that featured a fitted, strapless gown with a tulle bottom. They convined Yesennia to try something similar and it ended up being The One! "I only tried on about four dresses and I only visited Dress Gallery. I had originally planned to visit several, including travelling out of state, but after finding my dream dress with the help of my consultant, there was no way I was going anywhere else!" "I loved my experience at Dress Gallery," Yesennia said. "They treated me better than I could have ever asked for - with choosing my dress and afterwards. I couldn't be more thankful that the DG staff took the time to help me look perfect in my dress on our wedding day!" (We are also LOVING this picture of Yesennia and her girls in prayer before her ceremony. This is such a powerful and beautiful moment - it gave us goosies!) Yesennia's beautiful bouquet and other florals were courtesy of Sam's Club and Dillon's. We are LOVING how romantic and whimsical her dusty mauve and blue color palette looks! Especially combined with her whole bridal party - this is one STUNNING looking wedding party! Brides often get the majority of the press when it comes to wedding day, but Dress Gallery was also honored to help David and his groomsmen find their perfect fit, too! We so appreciated them coming in and letting us style them to look great for their big debut, too! Here are some great group groomsmen shots (guess our fave): Yesennia has the world's best advice when it comes to brides planning their wedding day. "Don't stress!" she said. "The day will fly by and I promise you won't remember the little things. Enjoy every minute of the day because it goes by so quick. Also, get a videographer or AT LEAST a great photographer. They captured so many beautiful moments that I will treasure forever." We might be a little biased about Yesennia's photos because not only are they drop dead GORGEOUS, but her photographer was actually Dress Gallery's own official photog, Shelby Mahlandt of Shelby Laine Photography! We love Shelby's documentary-style aesthetic and how she beautifully captures each couple's unique wedding day, including Yesennia and David's! When we asked Yesennia's favorite memory of her wedding day, her first dance with her husband immediately came to her mind. "At that moment, nothing else mattered," she said. "It was me and my husband dancing to a song that describes us perfectly. It was a Spanish song titled 'Mi Razon de Ser,' which translates to 'my reason of being'." Thank you so much, Yesennia and David, for including us in your special day. We are honored that you chose Dress Gallery to help you look and feel your best during your wedding. We wish you a lifetime of health and happiness!
