#dgcouple: April + Tanner

#dgcouple: April + Tanner

Another swoonworthy wedding is hit our inbox recently and we COULD NOT WAIT to show off our newest #dgcouple. April and Tanner held a classic, romantic, black-and-white affair in downtown Wichita for their wedding ceremony. We loved the crisp, classic color palette accented with feminine pearls, gold metallics, and stunningly modern design. Their photographer, Becca Louise, is one of our absolute favorites in the industry. Her romantic posing, soft warm editing style, and unique vision puts her solely in a lane of her own when it comes to wedding photographers. We dived DEEP into this gallery and pulled too many favorites, for real - have fun scrolling!

We told you this wedding was the definition of classic and chic! April chose an absolutely stunning off-the-shoulder Mikado gown (style Josie from Rebecca Ingram) featuring a soft v neckline (literally the softest), permanent foldover off-the-shoulder straps (with elastic for dancing), and a stunning fitted silhouette to showcase April's gorgeous shape. The fabric buttons down the back and through the train keep this look classic, sleek, and timeless. April paired the look with a cathedral length, scattered pearl veil, a perfect accent to her simplistic dress. April was a bride who wanted her silhouette to be the stunner, so we landed on keeping lace and beading off the dress. We loved the look of the Mikado fabric, along with the more structured silhouette that kept April comfortable and secure all day. This is a truly timeless wedding look, one that will forever be in style!

When it came to Tanner and his groomsmen, we wanted him to be the foil to April - an all black look, totally fashion-forward, to compliment the stark white of her gown. Tanner is truly a modern groom, preferring our classic Edison tuxedo featuring a shawl satin lapel, one button closure, and fitted tuxedo pants. He kept the look edgy and dark by choosing a black trim fit shirt and black accessories. We can't take credit for his hairstyle, although we do want to go on record and say that we LOVE a manbun and were HYPED when we saw Tanner rock a style authentic to him on his wedding day! You can still have a down-to-earth look while having a formal affair!

We kept Tanner's groomsmen look the exact same as his to keep the sleek black vibe throughout. It's such a classic colorway and we LOVED that, against the black bridesmaids dresses as well, April truly stood out! Her pop of white against the line of black, particularly against the modern/industrial brick backdrop of their venue, was the perfect combination of edgy, sexy, and timeless!

Congratulations, April and Tanner! We are so thankful you trusted us to style you for such an important event. Your consultant, Allison, says you're going down in Dress Gallery history and we definitely agree. Thank you so much for including us in your special day; we might be biased, but y'all looked great. We wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter. Cheers to the Youngs!
