#dgcouple: Kayla + Brandon

#dgcouple: Kayla + Brandon

Every so often, y'all, we have a #dgcouple that is extra special to us. Our next couple is one of those couples. Kayla and Brandon got married in an ultra cool, super Western-inspired wedding in late October. We are so thankful they trusted us to style not only themselves, but their entire bridal party as well. Their photographer, OK-based Baleigh Creed, was the perfect person for their leather-and-turquoise-accented wedding day. We fell heels-over-head for these two and we truly believe you all will, too, when you see these gorgeous photos!

Because HOW MANY OTHER BRIDES BRING OUT THEIR ROPES ON THEIR WEDDING DAY?! Truly, though, when we saw this wedding gallery, it was so uniquely Kayla and Brandon that we just instantly fell in love. They are two fabulous people who love horses, rodeo, and all things Western-inspired, so seeing that translate into their wedding photos was truly a joy for us. Plus, we love any opportunity to feature beloved animals in wedding photos!

When it came to her dress, Kayla chose an absolutely stunning Maggie Sottero gown (style Blake) and customized her look by adding full long sleeves. We worked with our seamstress to lengthen the sleeves and order additional lace for Kayla to make sure everything matched perfectly. We loved the bohemian and geometric lace patterns throughout her dress, along with the sexy-yet-sophisticated illusion neckline. Add in a form-fitting silhouette and open back and this dress was the perfect balance for a late autumn wedding!

For her bridesmaids, Kayla knew she wanted to keep the color palette neutral to match the soft champagne undertone of her dress. She also wanted her girls to be comfortable - and what better way than two piece bridesmaids dresses?! These dresses are actually tank top and skirt combos, making them a perfect option for bridesmaids of all body types. The skirts featured an elastic waistband (no alterations needed) and a flowy tank top with adjustable straps, meaning the girls mostly needed a hem and they were good to go! These 'maids are courtesy of Jasmine Bridal and are in colors Ivory and Almond!

Kayla and Brandon had a pretty distinct look when it came to their menswear. They knew they wanted a jeans-and-boots look to fit their Western vibe, but didn't want to feel casual without jackets. We landed on a full package minus the pants and shoes, allowing them to rock their own favorite pairs, while still coordinating with the bridesmaids. They also knew they wanted the men to rock their own black cowboy hats to truly complete the look. We chose classic black to feel formal and timeless with pops of champagne and sandstone to match Kayla's neutral vision!

Congratulations, Kayla and Brandon! We had an absolute blast styling your group, getting to know you both, and having you be a #dgcouple. We are so thankful you trusted us to style you for your wedding day. We're going to be talking about your wedding for years to come! We wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness. Cheers to the Abneys!
