Top 5 Trends You'll See in 2020
Mar 25, 2019
There are few things we love more than spending time pouring over the newest, most beautiful wedding details that flood our beloved wedding magazines and blogs. Not only are they beautiful to look at, but we love getting inspired by other brides' real wedding ideas and helping our brides incorporate their creative ideas into their own wedding day. There are few major trends we're seeing for 2019 that we LOVE; below are five we personally love here at DG!
1. Acrylic/Lucite decor & details
There are few things more satisfying than a crisp & clean aesthetic. Many brides are choosing the beautiful, airy look of acrylic or lucite for their wedding details and we love it! Whether you're doing signage, chairs, table & escort cards, invitations, or more, there are TONS of ways to include acrylic or Lucite into your wedding. Below are a few of our favorite examples. (Loving the acrylic ghost chairs? You can rent them from Supply Events based out of Manhattan, KS!)
2. Copper accents everywhere
Copper accents, along with other mixed metals, are becoming staples in modern weddings. Whether it's copper piping creating beautiful signage or table settings, flecks of copper accents, colored flatware, or more, we think that this trend is great way to merge romantic and industrial design features.
3. Dried florals & grass pieces
While there will never be a true substitute for a gorgeous, luscious, bursting-with-life bouquet, there's a definite trend toward edgier, drier look perfectly suited for neutrals. We love the dusty and whimsical look dried florals give, especially when paired with beautiful arrays of grasses, the most popular being pampas grass. Mandy Moore recently married her fiance in a burst of pampas grass and dried florals, creating a blush dried floral trend many brides are scrambling after. We love the creative use of monstera leaves, another popular wedding detail, as dried table settings!
4. Monstera leaves and tropical florals
We weren't kidding when we said we're seeing monstera everywhere! These beautiful, big leaves create a gorgeous tropical look that screams modern and bold. We love when brides use them singularly or combined together with other florals to create a multi-dimensional bouquet and accents. Whether you're getting married on the beach or in a beautiful venue, monstera leaves are a perfect way to add a pop of greenery with a unique and cool tone.
5. Hanging elements, including florals and lighting!
Couples recently have been doing everything they can to create beautiful, memorable decor at their events, and there's no better way to do that than to utilize ALL the square footage in your venue - and that includes the air! Having hanging accents allows for a romantic feeling while also letting you customize your day even further. Whether you're loving the trendy floral hoops, the beautiful Edison light bulbs, or a fabulous combo between the two to make a unique accent piece, we are all for adding some dimension in the air!
