Your Appointment at Dress Gallery!
Congratulations on your engagement! We’re SO excited to help you find the dress of your dreams, and provide an experience you’ll remember forever. We hope this information helps you prepare for your bridal gown experience with us!
Here’s what you need to know:
- Arrive on time. We’re often booked solid with appointments, so arriving too early may mean you’ll have to wait. If you arrive late your appointment may need to be rescheduled, or cut short.
- No food or drink allowed. This includes your morning coffee! Get your fix before you come. Make sure everyone in your party knows there is no food or drink in DG due.
- Location: we are located at 1007 W. Douglas Avenue. The closest cross-section is Douglas and Seneca. We are located at the western edge of the Delano District. There is one entrance to the store – the westernmost door facing Douglas. There is parking in front of the store on Douglas Avenue. There is a parking lot behind the building but you must enter through the front door.
Our rooms are comfortable for around five people. Bring your best friends and family members who know what you want and are supportive and excited for you. Due to the expensive and delicate nature of our products and the setup of our space, our store is not very kid-friendly. We recommend children under the age of 5 have something to do and be watched diligently.
Browsing digitally is the best way to do it! In store, all of our gowns are bagged in a private, employees-only stock room. Our Pinterest page has our live inventory, and the page is updated daily. We don’t have every dress from the designers we carry. Browsing on our designers’ websites can be helpful to get ideas, but to see which gowns we have in store to try on, our Pinterest is the best resource! See our gowns here.
Wear full coverage underwear and your favorite strapless bra. DG employees handle the gowns and help you get in and out of them, so be prepared to get friendly with your consultant! Don’t have a strapless? You can borrow one of ours. It’s always a good idea to have your hair and makeup done too – it’s easier to tell what you’ll look like in a bridal gown if you’re a little dolled up.
You’ll be greeted at the front counter, asked to fill out a bridal information card, and be taken to your private fitting room. Your consultant will talk to you about your wedding style, must-haves in a dress, and budget. Then your consultant will pull gowns for you based on your descriptions and/or photos. She will help you get dressed – which is why proper undergarments are a good idea! Only DG employees handle the gowns to ensure that our samples remain in good condition.
Yes! The majority of brides find the perfect dress at their first appointment at DG. Come with the person who will be purchasing your gown for you or have your bank account ready to make a large purchase. We require 60% payment to order a dress and 30% for layaway. Layaway balances are due in 60 days. Special order balances are due 60 days after items arrive in the store. We accept cash, credit and debit cards, and checks on deposits only. We do not accept checks on final payment or if items are leaving the store. All sales are final – no returns, refunds, or exchanges, no exceptions.
Our designer gowns start at $800 and go up to $3500. Our average price is $1500. We can accommodate almost any budget with our discontinued in-stock gowns. We also have gowns in our private collection Willow Tree that range in price from $300-$500. They’re simple but beautiful!
Please note:
During Riverfest, it is not possible to use Douglas going West to cross the river. Get on Kellogg and exit on the Seneca/Sycamore exit to reach Dress Gallery.
Just FYI… we don’t do alterations here. Any custom work or tailoring will need to be done elsewhere. We recommend Juliana at
QuickStitch: (316) 630-0074.

PS… We know you already realize this, but please be engaged. We usually have a waiting list. Trying on gowns “for fun” or to “get ideas” isn’t the best when our professional consultants could be helping a bride who seriously needs a dress. Just wait for the ring! It’ll come soon!
